Hub New Music premieres a new work titled Systems of Similitude in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for chamber ensemble and electronics, inspired by four dystopian novels. Pre-recorded samples of Hub New Music are juxtaposed with the live ensemble, which is eventually subsumed by the unchanging looming presence of the electronics. Over the course of the piece, each instrument slowly assimilates into the fixed electronics, eventually becoming indistinguishable from the pre-recorded samples.
